Founded in 2007, Meritis is a French digital transformation and IT services consulting firm that today brings together more than 1,000 consultants across France, Portugal, and the UK. The company supports over 80 key accounts in modernizing their information systems, combining technical expertise, strategic vision, and values of excellence, humility, and proximity.
In a context of strong growth and diversification of its activities, Meritis wanted to fundamentally rethink its information system to gain consistency, agility, and performance. To carry out this structural transformation, the firm called on Althéa to design a clear, sustainable master plan aligned with its corporate strategy.
This collaboration between Cyrille Deliry, CFO & CIO of Meritis, and Christophe Ferreira, Engagement Manager at Althéa, perfectly illustrates the value of a partnership based on trust, proximity, and co-construction.
Context: An IS that reached its limits
When Cyrille Deliry (CFO CIO of Meritis) initiated the project, the company had an aging accounting tool and an internal billing system that was effective but had become obsolete in the face of new regulatory requirements, particularly electronic invoicing.
“We had an internal tool, Merifact, which was very efficient but had become difficult to maintain.
The transition to electronic invoicing made a complete overhaul of our financial ecosystem necessary.”
This reflection on the tool quickly paved the way for a more global project: rethinking the IT master plan.
Meritis, already equipped with a very comprehensive Salesforce environment (CRM, time management, contracts, HR), needed to evolve its information system to support its growth and gain consistency and agility.
The mission: Defining a clear and aligned master plan
Under the direction of Christophe Ferreira, the mission was structured around three main stages:
- Audit of the existing system: Understanding the application landscape and business processes.
- Software vendor benchmarking: Analysis of market solutions and feedback from comparable companies.
- Recommendations: Defining the target master plan and support in choosing the most suitable solution.
This approach made it possible to combine Althéa’s methodological rigor with Meritis’s operational vision, resulting in a clear and shared trajectory.
“What convinced me was Althéa’s quick understanding of our challenges and their pragmatic approach. We weren’t looking for a large firm, but a partner capable of combining expertise, objectivity, and adaptability.”
A collaboration based on co-construction
The duo formed by Cyrille Deliry and Christophe Ferreira illustrates the strength of a truly collaborative partnership. Throughout the project, exchanges were constant, transparent, and oriented toward finding concrete solutions.
“I spoke with Christophe a lot. I am quite involved, and he was able to adapt to my pace and my way of working. We really co-constructed this reflection.”
This co-construction dynamic allowed for efficient progress while respecting Meritis’s culture and specificities.
A structural choice: Between performance and adaptability
The project resulted in the selection of Workday as the target solution, following a rigorous competitive process with a French player specializing in IT services companies.
“We compared two radically different approaches: a major international vendor and a more niche, very French solution. It wasn’t simple, but we took the time to objectively analyze the organizational and budgetary impacts before deciding.”
The Meritis team then began the progressive implementation of the master plan, supported by a dedicated integrator and internal IT teams.
Althéa’s strengths according to Meritis
For Cyrille Deliry, the success of the project rests above all on Althéa’s consulting posture:
“Althéa was able to adjust to our constraints, our culture, and my way of working. Althéa found the right balance between management and listening.”
The main strengths highlighted are as follows:
- A great capacity to adapt to the client’s organization.
- Recognized expertise in Finance and IT functions.
- A methodical yet flexible approach, centered on concrete needs.
- A peer-to-peer dialogue, based on trust and reciprocity.
This approach made it possible to clarify the vision of the Finance and IT IS, identify performance levers, and provide a solid framework for the transformation.
A sustainable transformation trajectory
Meritis is currently in the deployment phase of Workday, with a one-year project.
The challenge now is to keep this master plan alive over time, maintaining a clear and consistent vision between Finance, IT, and business lines.
“The real advice I would give to a company starting out: before changing tools, you must first clarify your IT backbone. Fewer tools, more consistency—that’s the key.”
In conclusion: A transformation based on trust and shared vision
The project conducted between Meritis and Althéa fully illustrates what a collaboration based on trust, listening, and co-construction can produce. Beyond the technological dimension, the transformation of Meritis’s Finance and IT IS is part of a global approach: that of a company that anticipates, structures, and invests in the consistency of its processes to sustainably support its growth.
Thanks to tailor-made support and a deep understanding of client challenges, Althéa was able to combine functional expertise, methodological rigor, and pragmatism to build a lasting master plan. This project marks an important milestone for Meritis—but also a concrete illustration of the mission Althéa pursues with its clients: making consulting a lever for efficiency, transformation, and collective success.
