At Althéa, people and support are at the heart of our missions. Today, we invite you to discover the journey and vision of Mathieu Bariat, who shares his experience, his assignments, and his relocation to Lyon.
A Rich and Solution-Oriented Career Path
A graduate in mechanical engineering from ENSMM, followed by a double master’s degree in business administration from IAE Aix-en-Provence, Mathieu began his career in Paris working on the interministerial Human Resources Management application. Very quickly, Althéa approached him to embark on consulting in Paris.
In Paris, he supported his clients in the end-to-end deployment of HR tools, in Time and Attendance Management (GTA) and HR development.
But a personal project led him to Lyon:
“It was a personal decision: I have family in Lyon, I had already done internships there, and it’s a great city to settle down and build something long-term. I then asked to join the Lyon office, and Althéa immediately supported my move.”
Paris is ideal for starting a career, but with experience, one feels the need for new challenges. Lyon then offers an excellent balance between professional and personal life.
The Passion for Consulting
An HRIS specialist, Mathieu works on a variety of assignments:
- audit,
- selection of HR tools,
- process structuring,
- strategic support for management.
In Lyon, he benefits from more versatile, diversified assignments and works with various departments (HRD, CFO, CEO).
But what drives him above all is:
“Being close to clients, anticipating and solving their problems, and seeing the concrete impact of my support on their teams and tools. That is the very essence of consulting.”
The Althéa Spirit
Upon his arrival in Lyon, Mathieu was struck by the support and friendliness of the local team:
“Integration was not simple, but the Lyon team supported me every step of the way, especially during complex assignments like a payroll audit. I was never alone.”
This combination of professionalism in assignments and human support perfectly reflects Althéa’s DNA.
The Althéa Difference
Since his arrival in Lyon, Mathieu has taken on numerous challenges and participated in strategic projects, such as supporting the Opéra de Lyon in choosing its HR tools.
This experience allowed him to work directly with the CEO, HRD, and CFO, while developing versatility and expertise. He perfectly illustrates the Althéa spirit: technical competence, client focus, and the ability to adapt to different environments.
A Balanced and Motivating Daily Life
For Mathieu, the move to Lyon was an opportunity to grow professionally while finding a more balanced lifestyle. He remains close to his assignments and his teams, and appreciates the exchange and sharing with his colleagues.
Conclusion
Through his journey and testimony, Mathieu perfectly embodies the Althéa spirit: professional excellence, humanity, and thoughtful mobility. His experience reminds us that consulting is not just about technical skills, but also about support, encounters, and personal and professional development.
