Transforming a Finance IS in an international organization is not just about deploying a new tool.
To support the increasing complexity of its operations and improve the management of its funding, an international NGO in the medical and humanitarian sector initiated a transformation of its Finance information system with the deployment of a new SAP ERP.<\/p>\n\n

Today, it operates in more than 20 countries, with nearly 4,000 stakeholders (employees, volunteers, and local teams) and a budget of approximately 150 million euros. <\/p>\n\n To support its international activities and respond to the increasing complexity of its funding, it initiated a transformation of its Finance information system.<\/p>\n\n The existing ERP, deployed in the early 2000s, had several limitations:<\/p>\n\n The project’s objective was therefore to implement a solution capable of:<\/p>\n\n The project also had to take into account specificities inherent to the humanitarian sector:<\/p>\n\n To successfully carry out this structural project, the organization launched a call for proposals to be supported in the choice of its future ERP.<\/p>\n\n In this context, it selected Alth\u00e9a for its expertise and the quality of interactions during the selection phase.<\/p>\n\n The first mission, launched in 2021, focused on decision support for the choice of the solution.<\/p>\n\n Alth\u00e9a’s support made it possible to:<\/p>\n\n “The support allowed us to make a truly informed decision.”<\/p>\n\n In 2023, during the implementation phase, the organization reinforced its project setup on the business side with Alth\u00e9a’s support.<\/p>\n\n A consultant intervened with a tailored presence:<\/p>\n\n “The flexibility of the setup was a real success factor.”<\/p>\n\n One of the key success factors was the ability to adapt the IS transformation to the specificities of a humanitarian organization.<\/p>\n\n The organization favors a collaborative approach, involving teams extensively in project development.<\/p>\n\n This approach encourages the adoption of tools, particularly by users in the field.<\/p>\n\n “The involvement of teams greatly facilitates tool adoption.”<\/p>\n\n A Finance IS transformation requires significant resources and strong commitment.<\/p>\n\n Certain skills require external support.<\/p>\n\n Involvement from the start promotes adoption.<\/p>\n\n “These are projects that require time and resources.
